Winter Storm Fern leaves a mark on the Lakes Region dumping around 6-10 inches of snow and sleet and now very cold temperatures.
Information collected by the National Weather Service indicates the highest snowfall total was in northern Arkansas around Omaha where 11 inches was reported. The highest in the Missouri Lakes Region was just over 10 inches around Bradleyville with one report from Branson indicated just under 10 inches.
The snow has moved out, but an Extreme Cold Warning is in effect this morning with below zero temperatures and wind chills throughout the region. High temperatures today will reach the 20s, then will get above freezing for several days before another front brings in more arctic air by the end of the week.
Many schools and businesses are closed in the region while highways are partially to mostly snow covered and many residential and secondary roads completely covered.
