Stone County Sheriff Warns of Another Scam

The Stone County Sheriff's Office issues a Facebook post on a scam that has developed this past week.

According to the post, the department received calls from citizens saying that had been contacted by someone posting as Stone County Sgt. Mark Rinker and telling them they are in contempt of court. Some of the calls asked for money. 

The post reminds citizens that the Stone County Sheriff's Office will never call and ask for money on the phone. The post says that those receiving the call should hang up and call 9-1-1 to make a report.
