Officials continue to survey the storms that ripped through the Lakes Region early Sunday morning while agencies and individuals continue recovery efforts.

A follow-up report to the tornado that struck south of Harrison in parts of Boone and Marion Counties from the National Weather Service in Little Rock indicates the storm was and EF-3 that started around Bellefonte and remained on the ground for over 20 miles with peak winds of 140 MPH. The storm destroyed a barn and caused damage to the nearby Boone County Sheriff's Office and Arkansas State Police Office before crossing over Highway 65 and strengthening as it moved east. Sheriff Roy Martin tells Ozarks First that there was a lot of damage around the facility, but the Detention Center was secure. He confirmed one death occurred in Boone County with one child being airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Little Rock for treatment of injuries.

Over a dozen structures were severely damaged or destroyed as a result of the tornado according to the NWS Report with four people dying due to the storm, one in Boone County and three in Marion County.

Several more EF-3 Tornados were reported including in Baxter County in Arkansas as well as in Howell County in Missouri. Another tornado in the Lakes Region occurred around Bradleyville in northeastern Taney County, which was surveyed as an EF-0 Storm which was on the ground for about a mile with 80 MPH wind peak damaging mostly trees.

Power companies continue to work to get power restored to areas affected by the storms. Entertgy still has over 1000 customers without power this morning, many in the path of the tornados that hit areas between Harrison and Mountain Home. Several thousand people remain without power in the Carroll Electric Coop area with the highest total in the Lakes Region in Carroll and Madison Counties in Arkansas and Barry County in Missouri.
