The Memorial Day Weekend has seen three rounds of severe weather move through the Lakes Region.

While storms on Friday and Sunday evenings did result in some tree limbs down and scattered, the storms early Sunday morning were the strongest and the deadliest, with officials reporting at least three deaths due to the storms that moved through the region.

The National Weather Service Office in Little Rock reports a tornado that began as an EF-1 strengthened to an EF-3 between Bellefonte and Olvey. One person died from Olvey when her home on Starkey Road was destroyed by the tornado. No identity has been released on the victim of the storm in Olvey as well as two deaths attributed to the storm as it moved into Marion County where two deaths were reported by the Marion County Sheriff's Office.

Meanwhile in other areas of the Lakes Region, two tornados were reported, one in northeast Taney County near Bradleyville that moved into southwestern Douglas County while another was reported near Willhoit in Ozark County. Assessment of damage of those storms are pending from the Springfield National Weather Service office.

Several areas are still without power this morning as Entergy reports still over 1000 customers still without power between Berryville and Mountain Home with the majority of those outages in areas of Marion and Baxter Counties. Carroll Electric Coop is also reporting over 28,000 without power in their coverage area, the majority in Benton County. There are around 5,000 customers still with out power in Carroll and Madison Counties while over 1600 customers are without power in Barry County. Both Liberty Utilities and White River Valley Electric Coop report most of their customers have power restored after the Sunday storms.

The Lakes Area receives a break from the weather today with no storms in the forecast.
