Today’s sunny and hot conditions will make way for another rainy period during the weekend according to the National Weather Service.
Forecasters predict temperatures in low to mid 90s today with heat index readings around 100 or higher.
A front will then put the Lakes Region back into a rain pattern with periods of showers and thunderstorms possible mixed with periods of no rain. Temperatures will moderate with highs in the upper 80s to low 90s over a four-day period starting Saturday.
