More information has been released about the incident of a driver fleeing from a traffic stop over the weekend.
The full release is below from the Carroll County Sheriff Daniel Klatt:
On November 2, 2025, Green Forest Police Department Officer Thomas Blewett attempted to initiate a traffic stop on a 2011 White Ford Expedition in the area of County Road 802 and North Carroll Ave. in Green Forest. The suspect fled and a pursuit ensued. During the pursuit, the suspect vehicle would stop, put the vehicle in reverse and strike the front of Blewett's patrol unit. When the vehicle stopped the second time, Blewett exited his vehicle, weapon drawn, and took a cover position behind the driver door. The suspect vehicle accelerated in reverse toward Blewett striking his patrol unit. Blewett discharged his service weapon twice with one round striking the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle then continued to flee. The suspect rammed Blewett’s patrol vehicle a third time before the pursuit ended at a residence on County Road 844 after the vehicle struck a pipe fence. The driver exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Officers searched the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Green Forest Police Department requested the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the incident. The vehicle was seized, and a search warrant was later conducted. Several items of evidence were collected and will be processed. Once the case is completed, it will be turned over to the prosecutor’s office for review.
