The Vacation Channel Under New Ownership

A Branson TV Station on the air since 1989 is under new ownership.

KBNS, also known as The Vacation Channel, has been sold after 33 years of ownership by the by the Earls Family.

Scott and Lisa Earls have announced the sale of the Vacation Channel to Ozark Mountain Adventure Properties, LLC.  

Chris Myer, President of Ozark Mountain Adventure Properties, LLC  said,  “We are excited to add The Vacation Channel to our media lineup.  The Vacation Channel has a long history in the Branson community.  We look forward to building on that tradition and growing the brand to help deliver value to both tourists and our local community.”  

Myer commented that he had looked at the Vacation Channel several years ago but it wasn’t the right time.  Scott Earls approached Myer again in early 2022. This time it worked and has taken several months to finalize the acquisition due to FCC requirements.  “We are honored that the Earls came to us,” said Myer.  

Tom Forster has also joined the team as Director of Sales and Operations. “We are extremely excited to have Tom join the team. Tom worked at The Vacation Channel in the past and has lived and worked in the Branson tourism industry for well over a decade.”  

Over the last 18 years Myer has developed numerous media properties in Branson including The Flavor of Branson, Taste of Branson, Branson Restaurant Map, Bransonrestaurants.com,  The Dining Passport,  Branson Vacation Planner, and the Play Branson Magazine and Show.  Myer is also involved with the production and sales of  the Ozark Trails group publication.  

Forster said, “We will be able to give clients of our media properties more opportunities to showcase their business in a variety of ways.  We’re really excited about the future.  

The Vacation Channel is Branson’s television station.  Locally owned and operated.  The Vacation Channel has been provided quality vacation and community information with locally produced programs since 1989.  You can find it on area Optimun cable systems on Channel 6,  digital channel 36-1.  The television station serves lakes region as well as communities north of Branson.

  • Hollister Schools Foundation donates $4,000 for Therapy Dog

    The Hollister Schools Foundation has presented a $4,000 check to the Hollister R-V School District, funds raised during last spring’s "Coins for a Cause" fundraiser. The generous donation will be used to help purchase two therapy dogs for the district, set to debut at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The check was presented to Superintendent Dr. Brian Wilson and Assistant Superintendent of District Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, by foundation board members Katie Adams, Ryan Gdovin, and Denise Olmstead.
