Two Area School Districts To Have New Superintendents

A pair of area school districts will be under new leadership next school year.

Dr. Kelli Rogers has been selected as the new superintendent for the Crane School District according to a post on the district's Facebook page. Rogers has been the principal at Crane Elementary Schools since 2016. Rogers takes over for Dr. Chris Johnson, who is leaving after eight years to take over a school district in Prairie View, Kansas. 

Meanwhile, as previously reported by Ozarks Dynacom, the Ozark School District says in a release that Superintendent Dr. Chris Bauman is retiring in June after five years with the district. The Ozark Board of Educators accepted his retirement at an April 13 board meeting. Bauman’s wife is battling terminal cancer, according to the release. The school announces that current Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lori Wilson will serve as interim Superintendent for the upcoming 2023-24 School Year. Wilson returned to Ozark after having been an administrator in the district in 2009. Wilson was superintendent of the West Plains School District from 2018-22.
