Two Dead in Shooting North of Branson

Two people have died as a result of a shooting incident north of Branson early Friday evening.

Taney County Sheriff' Brad Daniels reports via the Department's Facebook page that dispatch received a call around 6:00 pm of shots fired at a residence near Rinehart Road. Officers discovered two individuals that were deceased at the scene. Daniels say further details would be released as the investigation continues but did state there is no threat to the public. 

In a separate post, the the Boys and Girls Club of the Ozarks reports that their Branson Unit, located on Bee Creek Road near the site of the shooting incident, were notified by Taney County Ambulance of the shooting and went on lockdown for about 20 minutes. Club kids, staff members, and some parents who were on site to pick-up their kids, remained in the building until the all-clear was given by lawn enforcement. All people on site were accounted for according to the post.

    The Hollister Schools Foundation has presented a $4,000 check to the Hollister R-V School District, funds raised during last spring’s "Coins for a Cause" fundraiser. The generous donation will be used to help purchase two therapy dogs for the district, set to debut at the start of the 2025-2026 school year. The check was presented to Superintendent Dr. Brian Wilson and Assistant Superintendent of District Operations, Dr. Sean Woods, by foundation board members Katie Adams, Ryan Gdovin, and Denise Olmstead.
