The Basketball Regular Season is wrapping up for area big high schools while smaller schools are starting postseason play.
Highlights include:
Missouri
Forsyth Boys Claim Mid-Lakes Title
The Panthers finished off their undefeated conference run, winning a game at Buffalo Monday night that was postponed from earlier this season due to Winter Storm Fern. The Panthers 88-53 win gives them a 19th overall win for the season and the chance to closeout the regular season with a 20th win on Thursday when they host Cassville. Meanwhile, the Forsyth girls dropped a 59-39 decision to the Lady Bison to close out their regular season.
Branson Girls End Losing Streak
The Lady Pirates had lost five games in a row prior to Monday's regular season finale against 19 win McDonald County. The Lady Pirates responded it, slipping by the Lady Mustangs 46-44 at Branson. The Lady Pirates are 15-11 going into next week's District Tournament at Republic with District Seedings to be determined on Wednesday.
Blue Eye Opens District With Win
In a game heard on MOARK Sports Monday night, the second seeded Blue Eye Lady Bulldogs pull away for a 48-32 win over Pleasant Hope in the Class 2 District at Springfield Greenwood. The win sends Blue Eye to the semi-finals against fellow Stone County School Crane on Wednesday. The Boys will open district play in Crane this evening taking on Marion C Early from Morrisville.
Arkansas
Harrison Closes Season
The Goblins and Lady Goblins close out their season this week with the home finale tonight against Siloam Springs then hitting the road for the last games on Friday at Russellville.
Regional Tournaments
After smaller schools completed District Competition last week, regional tournaments are taking place across the state for 1A-4A Schools. Lead Hill is hosting an area 1A Regional with Jasper, Kingston, and Omaha among the other schools participating.
In other regionals, Alpena is playing in a 2A Tournament at Mountainburg while Bergman, Flippin, and Valley Springs are in 3A competition at Manila. and Berryville is taking part in a 4A Tournament at Prairie Grove.
