An update on area basketball include updated schedules due to incoming weather.
Spokane Boys Tournament
Forsyth won their semi-final game over Strafford 73-54, a game moved up to Wednesday due to weather, then moved from the High School to Middle School after a back board was shattered prior to pre-game warmups. The Panthers will play Galena in the finals today after the Bears held off Greenwood 55-52 in the other semifinal.
In the consolation semi-finals on Thursday, Reeds Spring grabbed a 57-54 win over Rush while the host Owls defeated Verona 73-34.
The final day of the tournament schedule has been changed to get games completed before the winter storm arrives late tonight. According to officials, currently the Forsyth-Galena Championship Game is scheduled for 6:00 tonight and can be heard on MOARK Sports Dot Com. According to the released schedule, Reeds Spring will play Spokane in the Consolation Final at 7:30. The games are scheduled for the High School Gym. The third place game will be played at 4:30 between Greenwood and Strafford.
Harrison
The Goblins dropped their 5A-West Contest at home to Van Buren Thursday night 52-33 while the Lady Goblins also fell to Van Buren 52-37. The games had been \moved from Friday due to weather. The Goblins are off next Tuesday before resuming 5A West play next Friday at home against Russellville.
Branson
The Pirates won their opening round game of the Bill Hanson Memorial Tournament 65-41. Due to the winter weather, the tournament is reduced to a two-day event with the Pirates wrapping up play today playing the Joplin Eagles at 5:00.
Meanwhile the Lady Pirates, after opening wins over Camdenton and Osage, dropped a 47-45 decision to St. Elizabeth in the finals of the Osage Tournament on Thursday. It is the third tournament Branson has finished second in after the Fair Grove Tournament and the Lendel Thomas Classic in Harrison.
