High School Basketball Highlights: Reeds Spring wins Sparta Tournament

The first week and a half of the 2026 portion of the High School Basketball season has included another Tournament Championship for an area girls program.

Sparta Girls Tournament

The Reeds Spring Lady Wolves notch a second tournament championship, slipping by Chadwick 42-41 to claim the Sparta Lady Trojan Tournament title. Saylor Johnson was named the tournament MVP for the Lady Wolves, who earlier this season won the tournament title in Blue Eye. 

The Lady Wolves defeated Forsyth and Hollister earlier in the tournament. Hollister took third defeating Lebanon 59-50, Blue Eye held off Sparta for fifth 52-49, and Spokane rallied by Forsyth 55-43 in the seventh place game. 

Battle at Branson Classic
Branson High School hosted the first ever event over  the Weekend with Benton winning two games in the classic, beating the host Pirates 54-40 then knocking off Rolla 73-65.

Blue Valley Northwest split two games, losing to Rolla 78-66 then holding off the Pirates 71-66. 

Other Games
Harrison
The Goblins have started 5A-West Conference play 0-3 including last night's home loss to Farmington 91-39. The Lady Goblins have also had a tough start, going 0-3 including Tuesday's loss to Farmington 68-31. Both teams had to Alma for conference play on Friday. 
Branson
The Boys won their opener after New Year's over Waynesville 77/43 on January 6 77-43 then in their only game this week, picked up a 71-52 win at Parkview. The Pirates will play next week at the Bill Hansen Tournament in Pittsburg, Kansas.

The Lady Pirates started last week with a 55-25 win at Blue Eye then won this week at home over Aurora 61-46. The Lady Pirates head to Arkansas for a game at Jasper on Friday then play in the Osage Tournament next week at Lake of the Ozarks. 

Forsyth
The Panthers started the year with a close home loss to Hillcrest then picked up a road win at Seymour. The Panthers this week have already notched an 82-53 win at Ava and will be on the road again Friday at Mansfield. Next week, the Panthers are the top seed at the Spokane Tournament. 

The Lady Panthers lone game this week is at Monett on Thursday, then will host Cassville next Monday followed by road trips to Sparta Tuesday and Webb City.

Reeds Spring
The Lady Wolves came off of their Sparta Tournament win earning a 44-26 home win over Parkview Monday. The Lady Wolves will play in the Marionville Tournament next week. 

The Boys, losing their only game this week 89-56 at Sparta, are also in the Spokane Tournament field next week as the sixth seed. 

Hollister
The Tigers, coming off a 67-51 loss at Mount Vernon on Tuesday, finish this week with a home game against Galena. 

The Lady Tigers are off this week and will return to action next Tuesday against Billings.

Blue Eye
The Lady Bulldogs dropped a 55-33 contest at Ash Grove Monday and will host Lighthouse Christian on Thursday. 

The Boys opened play Tuesday night at the Pleasant Hope Tournament, beating the host school 67-35. The Bulldogs will play Mountain View-Liberty in the semi-finals on Thursday.
