Three MOARK Football Teams Have Seasons End, Two Still Playing

Week 10 of the High School Football Season in Missouri is the opening of District Play while in Arkansas, it is Week 9 of the regular season.

Three MOARK Schools had their season ended in District Play. 

It began on Thursday night as Reeds Spring lost their Class 3 District Opener at Cassville 52-0. 

On Friday, two more seasons ended. The Branson Pirates hosted the Neosho Wildcats in a Class 5 District Quarterfinal. The Wildcats scored the first two touchdowns only to have the Pirates answer early in the second quarter. Neosho however scored on the following kickoff and never looked back on their way to a 42-20 win. The Pirates end their season at 7-3 posting their first back-to-back winning seasons in 15 years. 

Meanwhile in Hollister, the Tigers rebound season was cut short as one-win East Newton won a physical game as the Patriots held off the Tigers 21-12. The Tigers do finish 6-4 for their first winning record in four years. 

The Forsyth Panthers will continue their season after an impressive first round Class 2 win over Houston 56-35. The visiting Tigers did score the first touchdown of the game only to see the Panthers answer with 36 unanswered points to roll to the win and raise their record to 7-3. The Panthers will play at Springfield Catholic in the District Semifinals next week. The Irish defeated the Panthers earlier this season 50-34. 

In Arkansas, the Harrison Goblins fall to the 5A West top team Greenbrier in the regular season home finale 49-20. Despite the loss, the Goblins can clinch a spot in the 5A State Playoffs with a win in the regular season finale next week at Pea Ridge.
