Albert “AL” Dee Wallace Choate

Albert “AL” Dee Wallace Choate, 74, of Harrison, Arkansas.

Albert “AL” Dee Wallace Choate, 74, of Harrison, Arkansas, passed away on June 5, 2025, at North Arkansas Regional Medical Center with his family by his side. Al was born on March 27, 1951, in Harrison, Arkansas, the son of Marshall and Mary Pauline (Coleman) Choate.

Al was a big ole teddy bear that loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren. He would drop whatever he was doing to help them out. He had a sidekick named Chico, his rat terrier/chihuahua mixed little buddy. Chico followed him everywhere. Al went to high school at Harrison; he was a big star football player. He grew up as an Army brat, his dad was a career soldier, and Al traveled and lived all over the world. Al really liked fishing and raising his chickens. He was a huge Pink Floyd fan, enjoying all their music. Al's family considered him the meat smoker and griller, they said he was the best.

Al is preceded in death by his parents, his son Matthew Lee Choate, his mother and father-in-law James and Lovonda Baker. He is survived by his wife Debra (Baker) Choate, daughters Christina Morris and Jennifer (Rodney) Godat, his sons Michael and Andrew Choate and their families, his grandchildren Shara (Matthew), Morrigan, Madisin, Andrea, Brock, McKenzie (Anthony), Mary (Sheldon), and Brittany (Caleb). In addition, he leaves behind his great grandchildren Ember, Kinzlee and Madlyn, his brothers Robert (Terri) Choate, Paul Choate, Richard (Lisa) Choate and sister Cheryl Choate. Al will also be remembered by his numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life is scheduled for June 14, 2025, at 3:00 PM, at Lead Hill City Park, in Lead Hill, Arkansas. The family has requested that everyone wear a Pink Floyd t-shirt, bring a lawn chair and fishing pole, possibly drink a can of beer in his memory and catch a big one while there!

Al will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved him.

Cremation arrangements are under the care of Diamond State Cremation located in Lead Hill, Arkansas. Condolences may be made at www.DiamondStateCremation.com.
