Arthur “Butch” Allen Sr...

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Arthur “Butch” Allen Sr. who lived a life full of adventure and love. He was born on July 14, 1948, son of Harold and Della (Moss) Allen in Kansas City, Missouri. Butch was a devoted husband and a true patriot who served his country honorably.

He never met a stranger, making friends wherever he went. Butch’s adventurous spirit led him to travel extensively; he especially enjoyed the Colorado Rocky Mountains. He pursued various interests, including farming and remodeling several different houses to make them a place to call home.

Butch cherished spending time with his family, building memories that will last a lifetime. Drafted in 1968, he served in Vietnam, earning many medals as he simply did his job with dedication and bravery. Butch’s commitment to service and his country left an indelible mark on all who knew him. A close friend once remarked that he and his wife were an inspiration of what love and devotion truly looked like. They were married for forty-one wonderful years. Butch believed in the simple, yet profound act of looking someone in the eye and shaking their hand.

He is preceded in death by his parents; siblings; and his daughter, Angie Bristow. Butch is survived by his wife, Vickie Allen of the home; children: Arthur “Butch” Allen, Jr. and Robert (Darla) Allen; stepson, Michael (Kerri) Krutz; grandchildren: Andrew, Darian, Tristan, Charlie, Jack, Ryan, Kayla (Ian) Bergman, Kirsten, Rebecca, Alyssa (Miles), Kylan, Kylie, Brogan, and Jayden Krutz; great-grandchildren: Avah, Eli, Bailey, Malachi, Brynlee, and Grayson; and many wonderful cousins and friends. Arthur is also survived by close family friends: Mike and Donna McCleary; their children: Brandi and Candi; and their families.

He went to his eternal home on July 10, 2025. There will be a memorial service with full military honors held 10:00 a.m. on Friday July 18, 2025, at Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery, 5201 South Southwood Road, Springfield, Missouri. Services and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks. To leave an online condolence or share a memory, please visit www.cremationsoftheozarks.com.
