
Betty Marion Phoenix, age 91, passed away on October 5, 2025.
Betty Marion Phoenix, age 91, of Shell Knob, Missouri passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025 at her home.
She was born July 23, 1934 in Big Timber, Montanna, the daughter of Milton and Donna (Chapel) Willard. Betty was united in marriage to Billy Joe Phoenix, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents; grandparents; daughter, Jemell Marion Ardoin and a great grandchild, Austin Troy Hooks.
Surviving are her daughter, Shawn Tandy of Shell Knob, Missouri; stepson, David Walz, Sr. and wife Jan of Alaska; grandchildren, Keith Guiles, Jennifer Trafford, Jason Hooks, David Walz, Jr., and great grandchildren, Logan Trafford, Cassandra Trafford, Jessie Trafford, Avery Hooks, Addison Hooks, Ainsley Hooks, Peyton Guiles, and Alex Guiles, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Betty attended school in Auburn, Washington later attending college where she attained an associate degree. She owned and operated Professional Fill In’s, a placement agency in the dental field in San Diego, California. Betty was a master gardener, she enjoyed watching barrel racing and doing charity work. She was wise, kind, feisty, classy and beautiful inside and out. Betty was a sorority member and was recognized five years in a row in the Who’s Who Among the Women of California. She served as a Girl Scout leader, runway coach, and taught charm school. Betty enjoyed traveling, skiing, hot air balloon rides, and enjoyed being in nature, especially in autumn when the leaves change color. Betty was always an active and faithful member of any church where she was a member. She was currently a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church.
Private services will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
