Cecilio Salas Salas, age 80, passed away on November 15, 2025.

Cecilio "Chilo" Salas Salas, age 80, of Monett, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 15, 2025. He was born on November 22, 1944, in Zacatecas, Mexico to the late Pedro Salas and Refugia Salas. 

Chilo's journey began in the beautiful landscapes of Zacatecas, where he grew up and received his education. His early years were marked by a love for the outdoors, where he developed a lifelong passion for farming, cattle, and horses. It was also in Mexico that Chilo met and married the love of his life, Dolores Salas Haros, who survives.  Also surviving are five sons, Bucho Salas and his wife Adriana, Tono Salas and his wife Rosa, Pablo Salas and his wife Maria, Emeterio Salas and his wife Margarita, and Pedro Salas and his wife Sofia; four daughters, Maria F. Salas, Candelaria Salas and her husband Francisco, Maria del Carmen Salas and her husband Pablo, and Veronica Salas and her husband Rogelio; three brothers, Cruz Salas, Lino Salas, and Bernardino Salas; two sisters, Benita Salas and Dona Salas; twenty-four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

For 15 years, Chilo dedicated himself to his work at Tyson in Monett, Missouri. His interests and hobbies were always rooted in his love for his heritage and his family. Chilo relished the time spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, imparting wisdom and sharing in their laughter. His love for music filled the family home with joy and his deep affection for his wife and children was evident in every aspect of his life. Those who knew Chilo will remember him as a loving and devoted family man. 

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 19, 2025, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Cassville, Missouri under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Father William Hodgson will conduct the services.  Burial will be at IOOF Cemetery in Monett, Missouri. 

The family will begin receiving friends at 6:00 P.M. with the Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. The visitation will go through the night.
