On August 23, 1980, he was united in marriage to Mary Louise Ballard in Busch, Arkansas, who preceded him in death on September 5, 2025.  Also preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Ernest Williams and James Williams, and one sister, Mary Curl.

Surviving family members include eight sons, Randall Williams and his wife Donna of Sacramento, California, Mike Williams and wife Jo of Paradise, California, Ricky Williams and wife Olga of Sacramento, California, Steven Lazaroe and his husband David of Rogers, Arkansas, William Lazaroe and wife Cindy of Tampa, Florida, Tony Lazaroe and wife Candy of Muskogee, Oklahoma, Charles Casey of Berryville, Arkansas and Edward Casey of Fayetteville, Arkansas; three daughters, Dewella Williams of California, Leetta Bailey and husband Jay of Florida and Pam Cannon of Covington, Louisiana; twenty grandchildren; thirty-six grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.

Charles joined the Navy in 1951 and served as an Aircraft Engine Mechanic during the Korean War. His talents were as diverse as they were extraordinary. Charles attended Lee Bible College in Cleveland, Tennessee, he was a man who never stopped learning and creating. He was known for his woodworking skills, crafting beautiful guitars by hand, and sharing his love for music through playing, singing, and songwriting. His membership in both the Song Writers Association and the Carpenters Union in California and Arkansas was a reflection of his dedication to his craft. Charles's entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Charlie's Cabin and Canoe Rentals with his beloved wife, Mary Lou. Together, they built a business that not only served their community but also became a gathering place for friends and family. Charles was a skilled barber, a profession that allowed him to share stories and laughter in the chair. His hobbies also included bird watching. Charles was a member of the New Salem Baptist Church in Seligman.

Those who knew Charles will remember him as a man who was always having fun, a person who brought light and laughter into every room. Described as creative, funny, and handy, he was not just a jack-of-all-trades but a master of many. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Overalls and a cup of coffee, his undeniable trademark. Never too far from his guitar, always ready with a silly song or one of his favorite hymns or a song with an adorable country twang that he had written. Always a garage full of tools and wood and paint and varnish. He could create anything, always with a standard of excellence! The most brilliant, creative, talented and patient man I have ever known.     - Author – Dewella
