Clarence Thomas “Bud” Scott, Jr., age 75, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri.

Clarence Thomas “Bud” Scott, Jr., age 75, of Rocky Comfort, Missouri passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025 at Freeman Hospital West in Joplin, Missouri.

He was born March 15, 1950 in Vinita, Oklahoma the son of Clarence Thomas Scott, Sr. and Wilma Jean (Burnett) Scott. On March 9, 2024 in Wheaton, Missouri he was united in marriage to Peggy Craig who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Clarence Thomas Alan Scott of Springfield, Ohio and Noah Malcom Scott and his wife Brittany of Springfield, Ohio; six daughters, Denise Ruefer and her husband Donnie Anderson of Evansville, Wisconsin, Christina Houchin of Cloquet, Minnesota, Holly Henson and her husband Bobby of Joplin, Missouri, Kaylee White and her husband Keith of Powell, Missouri, Erin Porter and her husband Joshua of Neosho, Missouri and Grace Chappelle and her husband Caleb of Rocky Comfort, Missouri; three sisters, Iris Brock of Rocky Comfort, Missouri, Janice Cooper and her husband Larry of Springfield, Missouri and Sandra LeVasseur and her husband Doug of Bentonville, Arkansas; numerous grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; late wife, Carol Scott; granddaughter, Baylee-Ann Porter; brother-in-law, Steve Brock; nephew, Randy Allen Brock; niece, Kim Lowe and father-in-law, James Craig.

Bud went to school in McDonald County, Missouri graduating from McDonald County High School in 1968. He later attended Missouri Southern State College attaining an associate degree in automotive technology. He was employed by Automatic Systems, Incorporated in Kansas City, Missouri as a construction superintendent from where he retired in 2007. Bud was a volunteer at the bi-monthly food pantry at the Body of Christ Ministries and an active member and past president of the Rocky Comfort Community Club. He enjoyed riding his Harley, doing leather work and hunting. Bud’s children, grandchildren and church were the center of his world. Bud’s favorite pastime was being home with his wife watching HGTV. He was a member and the head deacon at Body of Christ Ministries.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, May 3, 2025 at Body of Christ Ministries in Wheaton, Missouri. Reverend Larry Cooper and Stacey Tichenor will conduct the services.

Contributions may be made to Cherokee Nation Foundation in memory of Bud.
