Diana Kay (Hinnen) Mobley, age 45, passed away on February 8, 2026.
Diana Kay (Hinnen) Mobley, 45, of Branson, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at home after a long struggle with her health.
Diana was born on April 29, 1980, in Branson, Missouri, to Fred and Deanna (Stewart) Hinnen. A proud Branson Pirate from kindergarten through high school, she loved cheering on the sidelines as a BHS cheerleader and serving her classmates on student council. She was musically talented, playing both flute and piano, and expressed her creativity through art.
Diana had a passion for travel, visiting France, Spain, Germany, England, and other countries before and during high school. She especially fell in love with France and its language, becoming a true Francophile. To nurture her linguistic talents, she began taking dual-credit language courses through College of the Ozarks while still in high school. She graduated with the Branson High School Class of 1998.
Following graduation, Diana received multiple academic scholarship offers and chose to attend Missouri Southern State University. While at MSSU, she studied at the University of Orléans in France through the university’s international exchange program, building on her lifelong love of the French language, culture, and travel.
Diana devoted more than 20 years to teaching English at Branson High School. Always committed to growing as an educator, she earned a Master of Education in Educational Technology while continuing her classroom work. More than a teacher, she was a mentor, a source of encouragement, and a steady presence in the lives of her students. She believed in them, challenged them to think deeply, and celebrated their growth. Through her dedication and compassion, she touched countless lives, leaving an enduring impact on the Branson community.
Diana loved being a mother to Ava, Diego, and Serj. She created traditions and moments of celebration that will not be forgotten, especially their annual Halloween Spooky Dinner. Their journey together held both deep love and real challenges, but her children remained an enduring part of her heart. Becoming a grandmother to Maggie brought her happiness and pride.
Outside the classroom, Diana embraced life with enthusiasm and authenticity. She had a sharp wit, an adventurous spirit, and an eclectic taste in music, from Jimi Hendrix and Janis Joplin to DJ Irene, Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys, and Lil Wayne. She loved being outdoors, tending to her garden, soaking up the sunshine, and reminding everyone to take time to look at the sky. Diana brought warmth, intelligence, humor, and a touch of sarcasm wherever she went.
On August 9, 2025, Diana married Steve Mobley in a beautiful ceremony after several years of building a life and friendship together. Their relationship was filled with music, conversation, and quiet moments of joy. Through seasons of both celebration and challenge, they found comfort and strength in one another.
Diana was preceded in death by her son, Nigel Stewart Dunn; her father, Frederick Lyndon Hinnen; her sister, Dacia Ann Hinnen; and her brother, Frederick Luigi Stewart Hinnen.
She is survived by her husband, Steve Mobley; her children, Ava Marcell Dunn, Diego Michael Dunn, and Serj Lyndon Dunn; her granddaughter, Magnolia Layne Dabbs; her mother, Deanna Sue (Stewart) Hinnen; her siblings, Devon (Kevin) Ellis, Donna (Mike) Booth, and David (Marci) Hinnen; her nieces, Kortney (Ben) Nelson, Kendra (Nathan) Carlson, Mica Farley, Avery (Dex) Weeks, Hailey (Ethan) White, and Heather (Jay) Pinkston; her nephews, Dustin (Megan) Ellis, Chad (Christine) Sorensen, Evan (Rylee) Talbot, and Hunter (Gracie) Hinnen; along with many other extended family members and close friends.
