Don R. Mead, age 82, passed away on February 12, 2026.

Don R. Mead was born on January 22, 1944 in Reeds Spring, MO to Herman & Mearl (Weber) Mead.  A lifelong resident of Stone and Taney counties, Don graduated from Reeds Spring High School and operated Mead Construction Company until his retirement.

Don married the love of his life, Barbara Baty on March 18, 1962 in Kirbyville.  He was an amazing husband, father, grandpa, and friend. Don will also be remembered for his love of the outdoors and hunting, especially elk hunting in Colorado.

Don entered into rest on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at the age of 82.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman & Mearl Mead; his son, Kent Mead; and siblings, Kelsey Mead and Nina Mead.

He will be deeply missed by his wife, Barbara Mead of the home; daughters, Kelly Mead of Kirbyville and Kenda Schwyhart (Jimmy) of Kirbyville; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and host of extended family and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday evening, February 17, 2026 from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.

The family will have a private graveside service at a later date in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
