Edith Luise Murray, 73, passed away on September 20, 2025.

Edith (Edie) Luise Murray, 73, of Gamaliel, Arkansas, passed away at Hospice of the Ozarks in Mountain Home on September 20, 2025.  She was born on September 26, 1951, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Edward and Margot (Rester) Wright. 

Edie loved gardening, reading books and going out on Lake Norfolk with family and friends.  She also delighted in spending time with her grandchildren. Edie was a huge animal lover and a devoted volunteer at the Palm Springs Animal Shelter in California.  She cherished her two dogs, Daffy and Mouse.  She offered non-conditional love to all she knew.  When she was a teenager, she enjoyed her job as a mermaid in Disneyland, later on she became a postal supervisor and retired after 30+ years of service from the Post Office. 

Edith is preceded in death by her parents Edward and Margot, her daughter Christy Plasse and partner John Dickerson (JD). 
She is survived by her 3 sons, Shane (Kelli), Daniel (Martha), and Michael, her six grandchildren Noah, Kira, Chris, Cassie, Mason and Makayla. Also, her two sisters Joan and Margot and one brother Eddie. 

Edie’s extended family also included her friends and neighbors on County Road 806 in Gamaliel, Arkansas.  She loved her little community in Gamaliel.  When she moved to Arkansas five years ago, they welcomed her with open arms and made her feel like a native to the area.
A “Get Together in Honor of Edie” is planned for Friday, September 26, 2025, from 4:00PM until you want to leave, at John and D’s Casimer’s home on County Road 806.  

Arrangements are under the care of Diamond State Cremation, located in Lead Hill, Arkansas.
