Etsuko Castro, 81, of Mountain Home, Arkansas.
Etsuko Castro, 81, of Mountain Home, Arkansas passed away on July 4, 2025, at her home with her daughter and son-in-law by her side. She was born on March 19, 1944, in Okinawa, Japan, the daughter of Haru Nagato.
Etsuko was a huge fan of Casinos, and she enjoyed playing Bingo. Also, she liked to crochet.
When she was in her 20’s, she moved to the United States because her husband, a marine that was stationed in Okinawa, decided it was best for her and her children to move to the US and live with family. She divorced him and married Antonio Castro, a Navy veteran, until he passed away in 2010. Plans are being arranged for Etsuko to be reunited with Antonio and have her ashes placed in the niche with him at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
Etsuko was blessed with 2 children, 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Etsuko will be missed dearly by all that knew and loved her.
A special thanks goes out to Hospice of the Ozarks for their extraordinary care they took of Etsuko, both in the hospice house and during her time at home.
