Evelyn Marie (Kendrick) Spencer...
Evelyn Marie (Kendrick) Spencer, while surrounded by the love of her immediate family, peacefully transitioned to her eternal home with the Lord on June 20, 2025. Eve was born on February 23, 1956, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Carolyn Sutton and Kenneth (Rex) Kendrick. She grew up in White County, Indiana, becoming a lifelong resident of the area until retiring to Branson, Missouri, with her husband.
Eve was a treasure to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her journey on this earth was marked by love, laughter, and her faith in God. She was most known for a beautiful smile/wink combination that will forever be imprinted on the hearts of those whose lives she touched.
Eve embraced life with a compassion not just for people but also for God’s creatures. Her life was a testament to her unwavering love of all animals, especially horses, a passion that enriched not only her life but the lives of those closest to her. Eve was committed to providing her horses with the most beautiful lives, and they provided her with a great sense of purpose and joy.
Eve was a cherished family member and friend to her community. She was a devoted wife, bonus mother, and friend. Everyone felt welcome in her presence, and she could melt even a stranger’s heart with her smile and joyful gentle nature. While all that know her will ache for her presence here with us, we will find peace knowing she is free from pain and worry in the comfort of her Heavenly Father’s arms.
Eve was reunited with her horses and welcomed into heaven by her loving parents and sister, Pam. Eve is survived by the love of her life, Freddy Spencer, whom she married on November 25, 2000. She also leaves behind her bonus children: Sheila (Paul Finley) Mellon and Justin Spencer; two granddaughters: Michaela Spencer and Emma Spencer; her sister, Mindy (Chris) Eggert; niece, Devon Millis; and nephews: Tyler Millis, Aaron McCloud, and Ryan McCloud.
For friends and family, a celebration of Eve’s life will take place at Roscka Roth & Clapper Funeral Home (6368 US-24) on Monday, July 14, 2025, from 4:30-6:30 PM in Monticello, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that any contributions be sent directly to a memorial fund in Eve’s name at Courage Rock Stable (couragerock.rocks), a portion of which will be utilized to purchase a commemorative tree that will be planted on site in her honor. Alternatively, donations for cancer research can be made to the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org). Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
