Karen Holloway, age 79, passed away on October 31, 2025.
Karen Holloway left this earth to enter her heavenly home on October 31, 2025, in Forsyth, Missouri in the company of her loving family. Karen was born August 19, 1946, in Kankakee, Illinois to Norman and Florence (Starner) Anderson followed by her younger sister Janet. Karen graduated from Marion High School in Marion, Indiana and followed her father’s footsteps and graduated from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Illinois.
Soon after college Karen married her husband Ron Holloway on January 31, 1970, and celebrated over 55 years of marriage.
Karen was a talented musician playing several instruments to include the trombone, pipe organ, piano and accordion. Karen was also a talented singer in several groups, choirs and solos. Karen directed children’s choir, youth choir and adult choir. She spent many years as the church organist and pianist for worship and special music. She loved using her musical talents to share her faith and serve her church.
For over 19 years Karen along with her husband Ron were the owner operators of Stormy Point Camp & Resort on Table rock Lake. Together they raised three sons. Being the mother of all boys Karen went boating, water skiing, fishing, camping, houseboat trips, snow skiing and even motorcycle riding on and off road.
During her empty nest years, she enjoyed trips with her husband, dates with her grandkids and hosting “Kuzin’s Kamp” for her grandkids along with hosting monthly family gatherings.
Karen loved Jesus and she demonstrated that well to her family by always keeping Christ first in her life and showing his strong love, along with her strong love, with a tender heart to her husband, sons, daughters-in-law, grandkids and great grandkids. She enjoyed attending church at Citizens Church of the Nazarene where she was a founding member.
Karen is survived by her loving husband Ron Holloway, their three sons Andrew and wife Sheri of Branson, Jon and wife Veronica of Branson, James and wife Stephanie of Branson, twelve grandchildren, 3 Great Grandchildren and extended family and friends.
Services will be held November 22, 2025, at Citizens Church of the Nazarene in Branson, Missouri beginning at 11:00 a.m. Family will inter Karen at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, Missouri. Memorials in lieu of flowers for Karen may be designated to Citizens Church of the Nazarene building fund or to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
