Linda Kay Thompson, age 74, passed away on March 30, 2026.
Linda Kay Thompson was born on January 13, 1952 in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was the daughter of Calvin & Betty (Bartee) Wiedmaier. She graduated high school in Cameron, Missouri. Linda was a hardworking daughter and sister and often worked with her dad and brothers in the construction business.
On May 14, 1971, Linda married James Wayne “Jim” Thompson. In 1986, Linda, Jim and their two children, Terria and Shane moved to Kirbyville from Cameron. They owned and operated the Family Affair Restaurant in Kirbyville from 1986 to 1992 where Linda was able to use and showcase her incredible cooking skills. She also worked at the Christmas Shop located in the Engler Block in Branson.
Linda will not only be remembered for her delicious cooking, hard work, and love for others but also for her enjoyment of landscaping, painting and gardening. She was a woman of faith and parishioner at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Branson. Most of all she loved her family and especially the time she spent with her grandkids.
Linda passed away on March 30, 2026 at her home in Omaha, AR at the age of 74.
She will be deeply missed by her family: children, Terria Berscheid of Omaha and Shane Thompson & wife Niki of Branson; grandchildren, Aaron Joshua, Kaylei Ryanne, Cole James, Micah Lyn, Claire Jordan, Titus Clay, Nehemiah Stone, Shadrach Harris, Fisher Shane, Shepard Daniel, Jachin Eli, Branch Caleb, Sarah Pearl Janae and Piper Josephine; great-grandchildren, Canyon James and Truett Daniel; brothers, Calvin Wiedmaier & wife Yvonne, Randy Wiedmaier & wife Cheryl; sisters, Deb Wiedmaier, Pam Selman & husband Tom and Cheryl Lynn Wiedmaier.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Betty & Calvin Wiedmaier; husband, Jim Thompson; sisters, Cinda Grass and Judy Cringan; brothers, Craig Wiedmaier, Rick Wiedmaier and Markus Wiedmaier; nieces and nephews, Shelly Wiedmaier, Abel Livingood, KC Grass, and Asa Wiedmaier; great nephew Caleb Townsend and great niece Destiny Lynn Burnett.
Services will be on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 1:00 pm in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson. Following the service, friends and family are invited to stay for a time of visitation in the funeral home.
