Mary Jane Lahman

Mary Jane Lahman...

It is with deep love and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Mary Jane Lahman, a cherished mother and grandmother, who passed away peacefully in her home on June 17, 2025, at the age of 81.

Mary was born on September 26, 1943, to Leon and Bertha Ann (Sooter) Ingle. She married the love of her life, Leonard L. Lahman, on July 12, 1965, and together they built a life of love, laughter, and family. They shared an amazing 46 years together until his passing.

Mary’s love of gardening was as profound as her love of her family. She nurtured her flowers with the same care and dedication she showed to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, creating a vibrant, welcoming home filled with beauty and love.

Mary is lovingly remembered by her children, Brenda Wyatt and husband Gary of Mt. Vernon, Missouri, Ricky Lahman of Exeter, Missouri, Janie Elmore and husband Jackie of Stark City, Missouri, Tina Ogle and husband Matt of Sarcoxie, Missouri, and Steven Lahman and wife Tammy of Fairview, Missouri, along with 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one sister-in-law, Fredaline Ingle of Monett, Missouri.

Mary was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents, two brothers, Frank Ingle and Robert Ingle, and one cherished sister, Bettie Warren.

A lifelong resident of the Fairview, Missouri, community, Mary was known for her breathtaking Christmas lights display, a beloved tradition that brought the holiday spirit to neighbors every year. To many, it wasn’t truly the holiday season until they saw Mary Lahman’s house glowing with joy and color - a tradition she lovingly upheld year after year. Mary had a talent for creating hand-painted ceramics, which she did with great joy. Whether it was a piece she gifted to a loved one or something she created just for herself, each piece reflected her creativity and care.

A celebration of Mary’s life will be held at 10:00 A.M. Monday, June 23, 2025 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Brother Joe Brattin will conduct the services. Burial will be at Dice Cemetery in Fairview, Missouri.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, June 22, 2025 at McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Missouri.

She will be forever missed and always remembered—in every blooming flower, every twinkling Christmas light, and every loving family gathering.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the National Scleroderma Foundation in memory of Mary Jane.
