Neal Dean Lord, age 95, passed away on December 23, 2025.
Neal Dean Lord, age 95, passed away on December 23, 2025, following a long illness resulting from a massive stroke in 2010. Neal was born on May 7, 1930, to Ed and Annie Lord and was the youngest of eleven children. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, enlisting on March 27, 1953, and receiving an honorable discharge on March 18,1955.
After his military service, Neal worked on the Bull Shoals Dam before joining Caterpillar Tractor in Peoria, Illinois. During a layoff from Caterpillar, Neal traveled to Kansas City, where he met the love of his life, Eleanor “Cookie” (Zeibert) Lord. They were married on January 24, 1959, and made Kansas City their home, where they raised their family.
Neal Later went on to work for Owens Corning Fiberglass retiring after 28 years of dedicated service. Neal and Cookie shared a full life together, built on love, family, and adventure. Neal is survived by his beloved wife, Eleanor “Cookie” Lord; his two daughters, Stephanie and Pati; five grandchildren- Samantha, Kellie, Hannah, Morgan, and Patrick (his long-awaited “boy”); and six great-grandchildren; Layla, Dean, Ava, Chandler, Bella, and Elle.
Neal truly lived life to the fullest. He loved hunting, waterskiing, traveling with Cookie, and spending time outdoors. Known as the jokester in any crowd, Neal brought laughter wherever he went, all while having the biggest heart. He will be remembered for his humor, kindness, and deep love for his family.
