Roger Haines

Brother, uncle and friend, Roger Haines, entered into rest on May 18, 2025 at his home in Branson.  Born on August 27, 1953 in Kirksville, Missouri, Roger was the son of William & Lola Haines.  After graduating high school in Kirksville, he entered the workforce, building pools and then going into business with his father in the electrical business.

Roger was a problem solver and an inventor.  It was while working with his father placing electrical lines for industrial building projects that he invented a roller that could pull the electrical lines rather than the former way of pulling them by hand.  He was awarded “Most Innovative Product of the Year” by a prestigious scientific publication for his invention. He also created the variable PVC pipe and had many other inventive ideas that were reflections of his creativity and understanding.

After working with his father in Northern Missouri, he embarked on another career operating his own night club, Maxi’s in Columbia, MO.  When he was ready to work daytime hours again, Roger went back to construction with Brown and Root and then started his own construction company.

Roger will not only be remembered for his inventiveness and entrepreneurial spirit but also his faith in God, commitment to community and love of the outdoors and sports.  While living in Northeast Missouri, he was part of the Yarrow Methodist Church.  Roger was also a member of the Shriners and Masons.  He enjoyed boating and time with his friends at the marina, especially on Table Rock Lake.  Roger was also a fan of all Missouri sports teams and enjoyed playing golf.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lola Haines and one nephew, Justin Caleb Pyle.

Roger will be missed by his sister, Linda Pyle and nephew, Jon Pyle both of Burton, OH as well as many friends and extended family.

Visitation for Roger will be Thursday evening, May 22, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.  A celebration of his life will be on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 9:00 am in the funeral home.  Graveside services will be at 3:30 pm at La Plata Cemetery in La Plata, MO on Friday, May 23, 2025.
