Samuel Charles Rodehaver...

Samuel Charles Rodehaver was born to Gladys and Samuel B. Rodehaver on April 24, 1942, in El Paso, Texas. He succumbed to his earthly death to be raised for eternity in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

“Sammy” as he was known in his youth was a strong and courageous boy having to overcome physical obstacles all his life. Even so, he was a strong and formidable opponent to those with whom he competed in sports: baseball, tennis, and golf.

Sam married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Leland, on August 23, 1963, and raised four beautiful daughters.

For 61 years of marriage, the couple navigated the years together as they experienced the changing seasons of life.

Sam attended UTEP transferring to UT to attend law school in 1963. Upon graduation he accepted his first job in the City Attorney’s office in Lubbock, Texas. In 1967, the law firm of Hooks, Wyrick, and Walker in Dallas, Texas, offered him a position. He practiced law for a total of twenty-four years. After a year-long stint on staff of Pine Cove Family Camp in Tyler he returned to the law firm until 1990.

His love of cooking and his disdain for practicing law led him to purchase a small restaurant, The Cookie Jar and Muffin Mania, on Main St. in Fredericksburg, Texas where they lived for seventeen years.

After selling the Cookie Jar, Sam became the manager of Oversight at Luckenbach, Texas, enjoying his love of country music and all things eccentric.

After some health issues the couple decided to move close to family, so in 2009 they moved to Branson, Missouri, where they remain.

Seven moves, thirteen residences, four kids, eight grandkids equal a life well lived to the glory of God.

Sam is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughters: Wendy White (Kern), Teri Adkisson (Jeff), Robyn Pena, and Sarah Buzzard (Joshua); eight grandchildren; three nieces; and a nephew.

He was predeceased by his parents and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Camp Barnabus, which provides Christian camping experiences for children with disabilities and chronic illnesses.

Sam’s body will be laid to rest in a private family burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Branson West, Missouri. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday May 28, 2025, at the First Presbyterian Church, 420 W. Main St., Branson, Missouri.
