Shirley Wright, age 88, passed away on December 24, 2025.
Shirley Wright, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025, in Springfield, Missouri. Shirley was born on November 21, 1937, in Mesa, Arizona, to Richard and Lois (Malone) Waltman.
Shirley's early of years of school academia and activities were at McFarland school in California, where she not only excelled in her studies but also served with pride as class secretary. Upon completion of school Shirley started her family and found a great companion when her heart found its match in Bill Wright, a proud serviceman with whom she built a life filled with love and adventure. Together, they navigated the challenges of military life, moving across the United States from Georgia to Virginia, from Idaho to California, and finally to Missouri, all while raising their three beloved children.
Shirley embraced her role as a homemaker with unparalleled passion. She created a nurturing home for her family, ensuring that her husband and children were cared for with love and attention. Her son, David Lambert of Blue Springs, MO, and daughters, Barbara and her husband Jack Cowart of Blue Springs, MO, and Sharon Lambert of Branson, MO, will forever cherish the memories of their mother who was selfless and giving.
Shirley will also be remembered by her grandchildren, Austin, Michele, Indaka, Kathy, and Mathew, and her great-grandchild, Michael.
Beyond her family, Shirley's passion for life was evident in her love for shopping, a skill she perfected. Her social calendar was always full, as she loved to dine out and share laughter with friends and family. Traveling was another joy for Shirley, and she and Bill loved every chance to explore new places together until they could no longer travel.
Shirley's kind and giving heart extended outside her immediate circle. She was known for her thoughtful gifts and delicious baked goods, which she shared not only with loved ones but also with acquaintances who could be blessed from a heartfelt gift. Her generosity knew no bounds, and her presence brought light and warmth when she showed up.
Shirley will be laid to rest by her family at a later date, care is under the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory in Branson, MO.
