Susan Jeffie Castro

Susan Jeffie Castro...

Adored wife, mother, and Nana, Susan Jeffie Castro, entered into eternity on Sunday, June 22, 2025 in Branson.

Susan was born January 6, 1964 in San Diego, California.  She graduated from Crawford High School and began her working career with Fedco, a Southern California membership department store chain and later was employed with San Diego Trust and Savings.

On February 14, 1987, Susan married Derrick Richard Anthony “Rick” Castro in Lake Tahoe, CA.  In 1993, they moved with their young children to Branson.  Susan worked alongside Rick, managing the office for their business along with caring for her family.

Susan leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, kindness and cherished memories. She was the heart of her family, a selfless woman who always placed the needs of others above her own. As the family confidant and the glue that held everyone together, her wisdom and compassion were a source of comfort and strength to all who knew her. She loved the outdoors and being a California girl the beach and its beauty were her haven.  Susan was also a woman of tremendous faith and prayer.  She was greatly loved by her church family at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Branson.

She will be missed beyond measure by her family: husband, Rick Castro of Branson; sons, Derrick Castro, Jr. of Branson and Austin Castro of Forsyth; her precious grandchildren, Natalie Castro-Witte, Wyatt Castro, Eli Castro and Johnathan Castro; her brother, Edward Tomasko of Phoenix, AZ; special nieces, Gina and Tammy; great-nephew, Justin and great-niece Shea; her mother-in-law, Katherine Castro of San Diego; and many beloved in-laws and other extended family members.

Susan was preceded in death by her daughter, Amanda Castro; her father, Colonel Thomas Smith, when she was a young child; her parents, Roy & Catherine Fine and one brother, Donny Smith.

Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, July 15, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Branson with lunch to follow.  Burial will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson under the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
