Terry Lee Prewitt

Terry Lee Prewitt, at the age of 76, passed away on July 27, 2025 in Springfield, Missouri.

Terry Lee Prewitt, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on July 27, 2025, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri, at the age of 76.

Terry was born on April 8, 1949, in Branson, Missouri, to Kenneth and Georgia Mae Prewitt. After graduating from Branson High School, he briefly attended Southwest Missouri State (MSU) before enlisting in the United States Army. Terry served over 21 years and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 3. He received numerous commendations for his leadership, bravery, and skills. He served during the Vietnam conflict and was stationed in Germany, where he met his wife, Jenny. They married on April 13, 1973, in Ispringen, Germany.

After retiring, Terry and his family returned to Missouri. He enjoyed caring for and taking pride in his yard and drinking coffee on his porch. He often called his brothers and long time friend Ernie Shaw to discuss politics and current events.  Terry loved spending time with family and friends, sharing stories, playing cards, having a cigar on the porch, and fishing. These memories will be cherished.

Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Jenny Prewitt; his parents, Kenneth and Georgia Mae Prewitt; and his sister, Mary Secrest.

He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Prewitt of Ozark, son Gary Prewitt of Ozark; his grandchildren, Tyler Prewitt and Lilly Gray; his siblings, Richard Prewitt, Linda Adams, Fay Beaver, Leslie Prewitt, Nancy Johnson, Robert Prewitt, and Sheila Bennett; and many nieces and nephews.

Terry's services will be honored. His love, guidance, and care will be deeply missed. The family will cherish the many memories created.

Funeral services for Terry will be Monday, August 4, 2025 at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 pm.  Terry will be laid to rest in Schupbach Cemetery, Chestnut Ridge, MO with full military honors.

In Terry's memory, contributions may be made to the family in care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory.
