The countdown to the Missouri Primary Election is almost complete.
The final day of early voting is Monday with the polls open on Election Day Tuesday from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
A recap of some of the contested races and issues to be decided by voters in Stone and Taney Counties:
Stone County
Two county positions are contested in the Republican Primary with current Presiding Commissioner Gordon Weathers being challenged by Kelly Power and Doug Minton while County Clerk Denise Dickens is being challenged for another term in office by David Cash. Three Republican Committee positions are contested with Thomas Sherry going up against Rob Gillum in Flat Creek A, Ryan Hurtgen vs. Gary Clark for Committeeman in Ruth C, and Sabrina Hurtgen vs Kathy Clark for Ruth C Committeewoman.
A House District which covers most of Stone County is also contested with incumbent Burt Whaley being challenged by Tom Franiak for the Republican Nomination. The winner will face Democratic Candidate Chris Daugherty in November.
The Central Crossing Fire Protection District based out of Shell Knob which covers parts of both Barry and Stone Counties will put a Bond Issue before voters to update equipment as well as repair and build new facilities. The Nixa Fire Protection District which covers part of northern Stone County will put a Sales Tax before voters to fund district operations.
Taney County
Two contested races in the Republican Primary will also face voters in Taney County. Incumbent Prosecuting Attorney Brad Hughes will be challenged in his bid for another term by Tony Williams and Joe Allen while Dawn Bilyeu and Gabe Shipley are running to be Taney County's new Auditor replacing David Clark who is not running for reelection.

Jasper Township Committeeman: Ted Martin, Don Crosley

Oliver Township Committeeman: Mark Cowsert, Bill Beeler, Joshua Heston
Oliver Township Committeewoman: Susan Bearden, Becky Bowen
Scott Township Committee Committeewoman: Sarah White, Kendra Keys
Swan Township Committeeman: Ron Houseman, Lance High
Swan Township Committeewoman: Sheila Wyatt, Julie Aubuchon
Voters in Merriam Woods will consider a Property Tax for a Road Fund that would be used to fund road repair and maintenance.
